This is the beautiful guest house which I stayed in my first 2 weeks in Sedona. |
In Bulgaria I took so many photos of food I decided to take a photo of an American meal I was fortunate to share right after I returned to Sedona...asparagus, chicken, rice and salad. Delicious! |
Sedona is beautiful - red rock mountains and green bushes and trees. More Sedona photos are near the end of this page. |
Santa Barbara California is on the Pacific Ocean coast. |
I love being by the ocean and can't wait to make my home here. Two people are paddling around the harbor on surfboards. |
Love the pelicans. |
This is a view of Santa Barbara from the mountains. |
I was in the 4th of July parade with other former Peace Corps volunteers each carrying flags of the country we lived in. I'm standing behind the white-green-red Bulgarian flag. |
My son, Ryan, on the beach in Morro Bay, California... |
...and me.... |
...and these birds - aren't they beautiful! |
This is a town called Solvang. It's like a little town from Denmark, transplanted into California. |
My family playing at the beach. |
This is a view looking down into the valley of Palm Springs. There is a lot of smoke in the air because of a wild fire. |
This is a view from the patio of the second home I am fortunate to be staying at for 2 weeks. |
It even has optional outdoor tubs and showers. |
Cathedral Rock and Oak Creek. I can walk to this spot from where I am staying. |
The creek is red because there has been a lot of rain. |
An old water mill for electricity to power one of the original homesteads in the area called Red Rock Loop. |
Here are some of the animals that live in Sedona - a cardinal... |
...lots of lizards.... |
...and wild pigs called Javelina. |
These photos are of Sedona's beauty... |
Yes, Americans plant vegetable gardens too. This one is much smaller than a village garden in Bulgaria, but there is quite a bit of variety. |
The sun was shining through the rain clouds right on Cathedral Rock. |
And last but not least......look what I found in a local grocery store .....Bulgarian Yogurt. And there is a new restaurant in Sedona named "Fields" - the owners are Bulgarian. $4 for one jar. |
